and of course the 74 tropical islands that the Whitsundays
are renowned for. The tropical climate here is perfect and
has an estimated 8.25 hours of sunshine daily to complement
the average annual temperature of 27°C max. and 21°C
min. What more could you wish for?
Travelling to the Whitsundays is simple. There are two
main domestic airports, Proserpine and Hamilton Island,
with regular flights daily from most east coast gateways.
There is fast, comfortable coach and rail access, and for
those who are driving, the roads leading into the Whitsundays
are excellent and the scenery breathtaking!
The resort town of Airlie Beach is situated right on the
coast, 24 kilometres from Proserpine and is a great base
to explore the magical Whitsundays from. If Island resorting
is more your style, of the 74 islands within the Whitsunday
group, eight contain holiday resorts. No matter what you
desire, there will be an island to cater for your every
need, from the Whitsunday Wilderness Lodges to the 5 star
