Wedding Ceremonies


Your marriage ceremony is probably the most precious and important part of your wedding day therefore take the time to plan and consider your options.

Civil Ceremonies allow you the flexibility to ensure that your day is special to you.

I am able to provide you with a number of different ceremony styles or alternatively, help you to write your own service that best helps you to capture the spirit of the occasion - be it a rich traditional service or a more contemporary ceremony. You will be involved in the planning of the day to ensure that it will reflect your deepest feelings and intentions. Please contact me for copies of suggested readings and orders of ceremony.

I am also available to meet with you prior to the ceremony to discuss your needs and provide advice on the choice of readings, poetry, music and order of ceremony. Please remember that you will have complete freedom to have as much or as little input as you wish, including the writing of your own wedding vows.

On the day, I will provide a clothed table, covered chair, microphone and candles if required. I am also happy to assist you with the organising of flowers and champagne.

I have conducted many ceremonies within the Proserpine and Whitsunday region and had the opportunity to travel as far as Townsville and Mackay to officiate these weddings. I am more than willing to officiate at these weddings, although an additional charge will apply per kilometre for travel outside of the Whitsundays.

The solemnisation of a marriage is a serious matter and although you are able to choose your marriage celebrant, your venue and vows, the legal requirements are quite uniform.

Baby Namings

Naming your child is an important responsibility and physiologists have found that if people are happy with their names, they will be happy with their lives.

By holding a Naming Ceremony you are openly welcoming your child into a loving circle of family and friends, while at the same time through carefully selected readings, recognising the responsibilities of parents, godparents and mentors. A Naming Ceremony is also a wonderful way to express the love, hope and commitment you have for your child through the use of poetry, readings and song. These ceremonies are not religious as they are not baptisms or christenings. Instead, they leave the child free to make any future religious decisions at a later date.

During the ceremony, candles can be used to signify the light that will guide and protect your child through life's journey. It is heartwarming to re-light the candle each year on your child's birthday and then give it to them when they're older. The candle may then be kept to be re-lit on those very special occasions that occur during their journey through life.
 

Reaffirmations of Vows

These ceremonies are to reaffirm your previously made vows of love to one another. You may have been married overseas, and wish to conduct a ceremony in Australia in the presence of loved ones. Alternatively you may wish to celebrate an anniversary by the reaffirmation of your vows and reflect on the years you have spent together. Reaffirmation gives you the opportunity to renew your commitment to each other and also to involve your children and grandchildren in the ceremony. You are free to select readings, music and poetry that will add to the day.
 

Commitment Ceremonies

Commitment Ceremonies offer a less formal approach to the celebration of a partnership and allows couples to publicly declare their promise to one another. You have the flexibility to ensure that the day is special to you and captures the spirit of the occasion. Commitment Ceremonies are carefully planned and may include readings, a statement of commitment, the exchanging of rings and song. I can assist you to in creating a meaningful ceremony that suits your needs.
